Update: Kris and Kim file for a divorce

The ink wasn’t even dry yet from their August 20, 2011 wedding. Millions tuned in for the wedding of the year. Fans were pressed to their TVs as they have very loyally watched the entire wedding planning process on Kim’s E! TV show earlier in the year.

72 days later, the marriage was over. A divorce was requested on October 31, 2011 after many rumors of infidelity and a dishonest relationship. On December 1, Kris Humphries requested that the wedding be annulled based on false pretenses. He claims that the wedding and marriage is a fraud. Is it really a publicity stunt to boost the ratings of the Kardashians? Can a family really be that desperate to stay in the limelight?

Of course there was a pre-nuptial agreement signed between them since her net worth is estimated to be $35 million and his is approximately $8 million. Their wedding held a price tag of supposedly $10 million and garnered a multi-episode television special on E!  In addition, rumor has it that Kim was paid $20million to televise the wedding and she didn’t even share any of it with her husband Kris. Something’s wrong here from the start don’t you think?

What does it take to let a famous American socialite like Kim Kardashian to say “yes” to a wedding proposal? As Kris Humphries – Kim’s now-husband – found out, it takes more than just an ordinary ring. The towering NBA forward proposed to the famous reality TV star with a $2 million, 20.5 carat diamond engagement ring.

Kris Humpries may have been the perfect match for Kim Kardashian. A very athletic individual (with an impressive record on almost whatever sport he chose to participate in – swimming, football and basketball), Kris has been the NBA’s New Jersey Nets’ starting forward last season. His contribution in the hard court was met with much merit, with a respectable average of double-double figures per game. His playing style shows how serious and hardworking he is in building a successful – and profitable – NBA career.

Outside of the world’s best basketball league’s arenas, Kris has also been known to be quite the charismatic person. Not shying away from the paparazzis’ cameras, he provides the perfect fit (or foil) for Kim’s glamorous lifestyle. It shows well with the high-fashion couple – almost every recent picture has them beside each other, a fresh change from always seeing Kim’s solo (not that anyone’s complaining, though) hot pictorials.

With Kim as a reality TV mogul, almost everyone updated on the latest happenings in the boob tube got to have an intimate view on the couple’s life. From Kris’ proposal, to even the wedding and sizzling hot honeymoon getaway, the couple is more than happy to bare most (yet not all) of their married lives.

So what’s next for the newly married couple? Apparently, they want to start a family. Kim, for her glorious, goddess-like looks; and Kris, for that hunky, sculpted, athletic built, might as well have provided America’s first step on the next fashion-forward generation.
